Welcome to CrossFit 115. The fitness hub for the CrossFit community in and around the Ely area.

 

A place where you will learn to become a better version of yourself, grow fitter and healthier. We provide a space for athletes of all abilities and pride ourselves on building a community for all with regular events and socials.

ABOUT US

Formed as a fitness community hub, CrossFit 115 is part of a larger collective including Elyte Gym and Base Camp 115.

 

We provide quality coaching in all of our classes with programming aimed at improving members weightlifting, gymnastics and conditioning in equal measure. Our coaches are there to create a support system to enable our athletes to be the best version of themselves.

MISSION

At CrossFit 115 we believe that no matter your starting point we can fundamentally improve your fitness through great coaching, in-depth instruction and by providing a community environment you will want to be an active member of. 

Our members understand that movement quality is as important as movement intensity and to improve your fitness, a healthy balance of both is best.

WHAT IS CROSSFIT?

Have you ever picked something up off the floor? Sat down in a chair and stood up again? Placed items up on a shelf? If so, you’ve performed deadlifts, squats, and shoulder presses. In CrossFit, we train these types of movements because they are the movements life demands — whether we practice them or not. 

No matter what you’re looking for from your workouts — feeling better, looking better, sleeping better, being stronger — intensity is the most effective way to get you there. In CrossFit, we focus first on moving well with consistency, and then we work on increasing intensity.  And you’ll see new workouts programmed nearly every day: workouts with different movements, rep schemes, loads, and time domains.

WHY 115?

CrossFit has its roots in being designed for the military and those training “for the unknowable.”

At CrossFit 115 we wanted to honour the fact that our location is based on the site of RAF Witchford, the operational base of 115 Squadron during WW2. Over 200 missions were flown during this period by the squadron who used primarily the Avro Lancaster Bomber which is represented in our logo.

We believe their motto ‘Despite The Elements’ perfectly represents the

can-do attitude of our members.

NOT SURE WHERE TO START?

Are you interested in starting CrossFit but not sure where to start? Our Fundamentals course aims to give you an in-depth introduction to movements and class structure.

In 3 one to one sessions with our coaches you will learn the foundational moves, gymnastics basics and the Olympic lifts which will prepare you for any and all classes we have to offer.
